Job Responsibilities

1.Resourcefully identify business opportunities but critically analyze feasibility and profitability of these opportunities before submitting feasibility study of various business opportunities to MD and Executive Committee. 

2.Analyze business environment and propose to senior management on overall business strategy as well as future business development opportunities.

3.Lead the preparation of annual Strategy Day for reviewing short and medium term business strategy together with MD, Executive Committee and Business Group Executives.

4.Work closely with Business Units to identify and propose to senior management on external business partners for various projects, including but not limiting to various automobile manufacturers.

5.Build and continuously maintain excellent working relationship with these external partners.

6.Independently prepare or guide Business Units to prepare business development project proposals that include business rationale, market analysis, financial forecast, legal & regulatory consideration, human resources deployment, logistic and operational plan, and exit strategy for the approval of MD,Executive Committee and possibly also Business Group Board approval.

7.Act as an internal consultant to Business Units in conducting professional business and financial analysis and preparing professional business proposals and also managing the project plan and execution.

8.Work with various internal stake holders, external business partners and senior management to secure necessary approval and continuous support for the projects during planning as well as execution stages.

9.Work with various Business Units to prepare detailed implementation plans for various business projects, coordinate with and push various internal and external stake holders to continuously support various initiatives in making the projects successful.

10.Build and maintain good and productive working relations with various internal stake holders including local and head office corporate and business unit heads to ensure continuous management sponsorship and understanding of project progress, finance managers to ensure financial soundness, legal managers to ensure proper legal and risk management, HR managers to ensure appropriate organization and talent strength, various operations managers to ensure effective operation of the future business initiatives.

11.Closely monitor progress of various projects and provide quality update to senior management (including MD and Executive Committee) and various internal and external stake holders on progress of various projects, and if necessary recommend necessary adjustment on the project plans.

12.Independently manage or support Business Units to manage new business projects in early stage of implementation to ensure successful kick off.

13.Lead the Business Development Department team to provide the above mentioned support to business, ensure a good coordination of project execution and recommend to TMG Executive Committee on prioritization of resources.

Candidate Profile

1. A minimum of 10 years experience in identifying and evaluating business investment or / and development opportunities and projects, in management consulting, investment banking or corporate environment

2. Automobile industry experience essential

3. Consulting experience a plus.

4. Experience in managing overseas business a strong plus.

5. Excellent analysis and planning, presentation, and negotiation skills are critical

6. Very strong self motivation, drive, resourcefulness and perseverance to overcome difficult internal and external challenges to bring projects to fruition

7. Very strong business and financial sense and analytical skills

8. Outgoing personality with strong diplomatic and relationship building skills

9. Willing to travel extensively

10.Very good written and spoken English and Chinese skills
